HEADS OF FEMALE FOOTBALL
We are pleased to announce the appointment of Matt Hay and Barry Saunders as “Heads of Female Football” at PBSC. They bring a wealth of experience coaching various male and female teams and programs of all ages and playing levels over a number of decades. Barry and Matt have spent the last four years developing and growing the Gold Coast United NPL Female Program.
Matt and Barry will be working closely with the existing Juniors and Women’s Committee as well as all coaches of female teams to implement a holistic approach to Female Football in 2024 and the years to follow.
Building on the club's history and fabulous work already done by PBSC coaches and volunteers, The Heads of Female Football will concentrate on the four pillars of success being "Player Development, Coach Development, Player/Coach Pathways and Community/Club Culture".
This approach will ensure a strong and sustainable female football department here at Palm Beach with its distinctive age-appropriate playing philosophy that is underpinned with the Palm Beach DNA and make Palm Beach Soccer Club the club of choice on the Gold Coast for current, returning and future PBSC female players.
The implementation of an U11’s “Sharks Squad” for girls in 2024, along with our existing Junior League teams in all available competitive age groups allows Palm Beach to provide a player pathway for girls to receive advanced coaching and a competitive game environment for those who are selected. These experiences create more opportunities for Grass Roots footballers to achieve their professional football aspirations.

JENNA DRUMMOND - AMBASSADOR FOR FEMALE FOOTBALL
FORMER MATILDA - W LEAGUE PLAYER - PALMY MUM COMES ON BOARD TO PROMOTE THE FEMALE GAME AT PALM BEACH SOCCER CLUB
As part of Palm Beach Soccer Club's broader female football plan, we are pleased to announce our unique, 'Female Football Pathway Program’, to help aspiring young players achieve their dream of becoming the best they can be within an inclusive environment through a progressive pathway and providing opportunities for all players.
The pathway provides a link between grassroots football and the different areas of the game, closing the gap on the current lack of opportunities for young females to transition from one to the other.
We are thrilled to announce Jenna Drummond (Tristam) as an ambassador for the PBSC Female Football Pathway Program. Jenna is a former Matilda and W League player who was part of the inaugural Brisbane Roar W league squad. Jenna`s extraordinary football journey and experiences will be a major asset to this program and the young females at Palm Beach Soccer Club.
There will be plenty of opportunities for players and parents to meet Jenna on the field, at some training nights or through future player/parent workshops.
