In 2013 Palm Beach Soccer Club was awarded a  National Premier League Licence by Football QLD and the FFA. The National Premier League Queensland is top tier state level competition in Queensland. The conference is a sub division of the National Premier Leagues.

There were 12 Clubs in each State who were awarded National Premier League Licences. Each club is expected to field a senior team, five junior men’s teams from under-12 to under-20 and a U/13, U/15 and Senior Women’s Teams.

Each club has been granted a 5-year licence and there is no promotion or relegation from the league during this period.

In 2016 Palm Beach teams competing in the National Premier Leagues Competitions will be called Gold Coast City FC
